Golf is a game in which a player strikes a small ball with various clubs from a series of starting points into a series of holes on a course. The player who holes their ball in the fewest strokes wins. Among the famous tournaments are The masters and the US Open.
It is the most prestigious golf tournament in the world. Every April, the tournament takes place and features the world’s top golfers. It is the only one of the four tournaments played on the same golf course every time – The Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia. The regulations and language that apply to this major are the strictest of all the Majors.
There are no qualifier competitions. Instead, participation requires an invitation. Winners receive the coveted green jacket, a sign of the sportsman’s greatness and success. However, the holder has to return the jacket the following year. Also, the victor can wear it solely in the club’s region, such as at the annual Champions Dinner.
The US Open
This competition is held in June, with the final happening on Father’s Day. It is also referred to as The United States Open Championship and is regarded as the most challenging golf competition in the world. It is brought on by the harsh circumstances on the golf courses specially constructed for the competition.
The ground is uneven, with many impediments around the holes, and the path leading to them is both lengthy and narrow. Regardless, it is the best-paying golf competition in the world.
Every few years, this event alternates between several predetermined courses, occasionally including new ones. The best feature is that amateurs with a low enough USGA handicap index can try to qualify since it is an open competition.
