The Correct Attire for Golf

Golf is undoubtedly a popular sport, and the bigger tournaments attract millions of viewers worldwide. However, for those who prefer to participate rather than just watch, golf does have a strict standard of rules and etiquette, especially when it comes to clothing. When joining a new golf club, you will be expected to agree to its terms and conditions. Anybody breaking the rules will be unable to play on that particular course.

What to Wear for Playing Golf

A smaller club may have a more relaxed dress code. In this case, you may be able to find suitable trousers at an affordable price from the NA-KD website. However, if you plan on playing at a championship course, the rules will specify that you need to wear a collared polo shirt, shorts or slacks with belt loops and specific golfing shoes. As regards the shirt, it can be long or short-sleeved depending on the weather but must have a collar.

Again, the weather will play a part when deciding to wear shorts or slacks, but one thing to remember is the choice of colour. You might usually prefer bright or patterned trousers from NA-KD. Still, unfortunately, they are unlikely to be accepted at top golf courses. You will need to wait until you get home and can then slip into your preferred choice of clothing. At the golf club, you will be expected to wear muted colours such as cream, khaki or tan.

You may be surprised to learn that you will have to wear a belt. This could be in sharp contrast to the comfortable, easy to wear trousers that you usually buy from NA-KD. Drawstring, elasticated trousers are not allowed on a golf course, and football shorts will definitely get you banned. When it comes to your golf shoes, you can wear soft spikes, as these will not damage the greens. Try and find a pair that has enough padding as you will be doing a lot of walking.

Knowing the correct attire for playing golf is essential to ensure you are not banned from the course before you even tee off!
